Worker handling ore concentrate in a bin at a processing plant

Ores and concentrates

We buy tantalum, niobium, tungsten, tin, titanium, molybdenum and rare earth ores and concentrates from mines, concentrators and mineral traders, with export, logistics and documentation handled.

Where our ores and concentrates come from

We buy ores and concentrates directly from producers and through established mineral traders, provided the origin and chain of custody can be documented.

Difficult materials

We actively evaluate contaminated, mixed, off-grade and unusual materials that conventional scrap buyers may reject.

Fair terms

Offers are based on recoverable metal content, processing economics and agreed sampling and assay procedures.

Real settlement

For complex lots, we can work with independent inspection, sampling and laboratory analysis where required.

Global markets

Our international processor network gives us multiple outlets for materials that may have little or no local market.

FAQs

Ores and concentrates: what producers and traders ask before selling

Which ores and concentrates do you buy?

We buy tantalum and niobium ores (tantalite, columbite, coltan), tungsten concentrates (wolframite, scheelite), tin ore (cassiterite), titanium minerals (ilmenite, rutile), molybdenite and rare earth concentrates. We review run-of-mine ore, upgraded concentrates and by-product streams from other mining operations.

Is there a minimum grade or quantity?

There’s no single cut-off. Grade, impurities and quantity together decide whether a lot is workable. A small, high-grade lot can be more attractive than a large low-grade one. Send us an analysis and approximate tonnage, and we’ll tell you how we can work with it.

How are ores and concentrates priced?

Pricing is based on the assayed content of the payable metal or oxide (for example Ta₂O₅, WO₃ or Sn), the relevant international benchmark price, and deductions for impurities, moisture and treatment. Final terms follow independent sampling and assay at loading or delivery.

What documentation do you need on origin and compliance?

We need clear origin, chain-of-custody and export documentation, including mining licences and export permits where applicable. For tantalum, tin and tungsten, we follow responsible sourcing due diligence in line with OECD guidance. Some concentrates, such as tantalite and monazite, can contain naturally occurring radioactive material, which we assess before shipment.

Why sell ores and concentrates to Oryx Metals?

Oryx Metals has traded minor metals for over 20 years and works with processors across the Americas, Europe and Asia, including refiners for materials only a few plants can treat. With entities in the USA, UAE and Hong Kong and a Latin American subsidiary, J2 Metals, we can contract close to the source and manage export, logistics and payment end to end.

What do you need to give us an offer?

A recent assay or analysis, the mineral type, approximate tonnage, the mine or region of origin, available documentation and where the material is stored. Send it through our pricing form or message us on WhatsApp or WeChat. A specialist replies within 24 hours with an indicative offer or the questions we need answered.
