Titanium recycling turns offcuts back into aerospace alloy

Titanium combines high strength, low weight and corrosion resistance, so it is used in aircraft frames and engines, medical implants, chemical plant equipment and marine parts. Machining a titanium part can turn most of the starting billet into chips, and fabrication, forging and teardown add solids and sheet. Clean, graded titanium scrap goes back into melting as a direct replacement for sponge, cutting energy and cost.

FORMS WE BUY

Titanium scrap we buy

Titanium alloy round bars, thick plates, forged blocks, and cut metal offcuts arranged on wooden pallets inside an industrial metalworking facility.

Ti-6Al-4V solids

Grade 5 bar, plate, forgings and offcuts

Commercially pure titanium sheets, stacked metal plates, and hollow titanium tubes stored on industrial racks inside a metal processing warehouse.

CP titanium

Grade 1 to 4 sheet, tube and plate

Curled titanium machining chips, spiral metal turnings, and fine shavings collected in a heavy-duty steel scrap container inside a machine shop.

Titanium turnings

Grade 2 and grade 5 chips, clean or oily

Used aerospace components including aircraft engine fan blades, circular discs, metal casings, and structural airframe sections arranged inside an industrial maintenance workshop.

Aerospace titanium parts

Fan blades, discs, cases and airframe parts

Titanium mesh sheets, cylindrical mesh baskets, and bundled metal tubes arranged on an industrial workbench inside a metal processing facility.

Titanium anodes and mesh

Uncoated mesh, baskets and heat exchanger tube

Porous titanium sponge pieces, coarse metallic granules, and fine gray powder stored in separate metal trays inside an industrial materials processing facility.

Sponge and fines

Titanium sponge fines, powder and off-spec material

HOW minor metals are PRICED

Oryx Metals makes scrap recycling easy and profitable

There's no single scrap price for minor metals. The same metal can come as clean solids or contaminated powder, and its value per kg can differ many times over. Every Oryx offer is based on your material's analysis, form and the market on the day.

How our pricing works
Highest value

Clean, high-purity solids

Uncontaminated pieces, offcuts, ingots and production rejects

Mid-Range

Coated or alloyed scrap

Coated parts, alloys, turnings and mixed solids

Priced on content

Powders, sludges & residues

Value depends on metal %, contamination and moisture

FAQs

Titanium recycling and titanium scrap price FAQ

What titanium scrap do you buy for titanium recycling?

Ti-6Al-4V (grade 5) and other alloy solids, CP titanium sheet, tube and plate, turnings, aerospace parts such as fan blades, discs and cases, uncoated mesh, baskets and heat exchanger tube, and titanium sponge fines and powder.

How do I know which titanium grade I have?

Mill certificates or part numbers are the easiest route. Otherwise an XRF reading separates CP titanium from grade 5 and other alloys. Titanium is light, non-magnetic and throws bright white sparks when ground.

What drives the titanium scrap price?

The grade, the form and how clean the material is. Solid, sorted grade 5 or CP titanium earns the most, while mixed or oily turnings and material with tool inserts, steel or coatings are worth less. The titanium scrap value also moves with demand from melters. Oryx makes each offer from your grade and analysis.

Why do melters care about carbide or steel in titanium turnings?

Small pieces of carbide tooling or steel can cause hard inclusions in remelted titanium, which is unacceptable in aerospace alloy. Turnings with contamination have to be cleaned or go to lower-value uses, so separating them at the machine keeps your titanium scrap at its best price.

How does an aerospace shop or scrap yard sell titanium to Oryx?

Send grades, weights and photos by email, WhatsApp or WeChat. We send a written offer, agree collection, verify grade and weight at arrival and pay by wire. Regular sellers can agree a pricing basis for ongoing loads.

Why choose Oryx Metals as your titanium recycler?

Oryx Metals sorts titanium by grade and cleanliness instead of buying it as one mixed lot, so clean grade 5 is paid as grade 5. We work directly with melters that use scrap as feedstock, handle the logistics and give you a clear written offer every time.
