Tin ore buyers for cassiterite concentrates

Almost all tin is mined as cassiterite, from hard rock deposits and alluvial operations, then concentrated and sold to tin smelters. Concentrates range from high-grade material above 60 percent tin to lower-grade products that need blending. Impurities such as iron, arsenic, sulfur and tantalum or niobium affect value, and as a 3TG mineral, tin requires traceable sourcing.

FORMS WE BUY

Tin ores and concentrates we buy

Large, angular black ore chunks with glossy metallic surfaces, rusty-brown patches and fractured edges piled inside an industrial steel container.

High-grade cassiterite

Clean tin concentrates for direct smelting

Mixed crushed mineral ore containing dark metallic fragments, gray stones and brown mineral inclusions collected in a worn industrial processing bin.

Low-grade tin concentrate

Concentrates that need upgrading or blending

Wet black and amber-colored mineral granules with reflective surfaces and small crushed rock fragments spread across an industrial sorting tray.

Alluvial tin concentrate

Cassiterite from placer and alluvial mining

Assorted dark-gray and black ore fragments with metallic reflections, pale mineral inclusions and rusty-brown patches piled inside a recycling facility container.

Tin-tantalum concentrates

Cassiterite with Ta and Nb by-product value

Large mound of finely crushed gray and brown mineral aggregate containing small angular stones and metallic particles in an industrial processing hopper.

Tin middlings

Intermediate products from concentration plants

Dense pile of dark charcoal mineral concentrate with coarse granular texture and scattered metallic fragments inside a steel processing bin at an industrial facility.

Tin from tailings

Tin recovered from old tailings

HOW minor metals are PRICED

Oryx Metals makes scrap recycling easy and profitable

There's no single scrap price for minor metals. The same metal can come as clean solids or contaminated powder, and its value per kg can differ many times over. Every Oryx offer is based on your material's analysis, form and the market on the day.

How our pricing works
Highest value

Clean, high-purity solids

Uncontaminated pieces, offcuts, ingots and production rejects

Mid-Range

Coated or alloyed scrap

Coated parts, alloys, turnings and mixed solids

Priced on content

Powders, sludges & residues

Value depends on metal %, contamination and moisture

FAQs

Tin ore and tin concentrate: questions from producers

What tin ore do you buy?

High-grade and low-grade cassiterite concentrates, alluvial tin concentrate, tin concentrates carrying tantalum and niobium, tin middlings, and products from tailings retreatment.

What should a tin concentrate assay show?

Tin content, plus iron, sulfur, arsenic, antimony, bismuth, lead, copper, tungsten and tantalum-niobium oxides, and moisture. Smelters price impurities carefully, so a full assay gives a more accurate offer.

How do tin ore buyers set the price?

Tin concentrate is usually priced on contained tin against the LME or another tin reference, minus a treatment charge and penalties for impurities, with credits for payable by-products like tantalum. Oryx states all terms in a written offer.

What documents are needed to sell tin concentrate?

Mine or source of origin, export permits, chain of custody records and due diligence in line with OECD guidance for 3TG minerals. We do not buy tin from sources that cannot be verified.

Can you buy small lots of tin concentrate?

Yes. Small and artisanal-scale producers with verified origin are welcome. Smaller lots may be combined with others for shipping, and we explain how sampling and assay will work.

Why work with Oryx Metals as your tin ore buyer?

Oryx Metals knows tin from both sides, as scrap and as concentrate, and works with smelters that accept different grades and impurity levels. We also recognise tantalum and niobium value in tin concentrates that others ignore.
