Industrial recycling warehouse with bulk bags and steel containers filled with mixed metal powders, alloy production residues, oxidized scrap, and metal-bearing waste.

Mixed Metal Residues

We buy mixed metal residues that other buyers turn down, from mixed powders and drosses to process residues containing several valuable metals. Send your analysis and a description for a written offer.

Finding Value in Complex, Mixed-Metal Residues

Many industrial plants generate complex, polymetallic residues, including mixed powders, alloy production byproducts, equipment cleanouts, and legacy stockpiles. These materials often contain multiple metals, such as Cu-Pb-Zn, Cu-Ni-Sn, or Mo-W-V, sometimes with elevated impurities including Pb, As, Cd, Hg, F, Cl, Cr, Mg, and Al. Because they fall outside standard grades, they are often stockpiled or discarded. Oryx Metals specializes in evaluating these challenging concentrates and residues, connecting them with specialized refiners capable of recovering valuable metals, even from highly contaminated or complex mixed-metal materials.

FORMS WE BUY

Mixed metal residues we buy

Assorted fine metallic powders in silver, gray and brown shades, stored in stainless steel trays and sealed containers inside an industrial processing facility.

Mixed metal powders

AM, thermal spray and off-spec alloy powders

Mixed metal slag, furnace skims and solidified alloy production residues collected in a heavy-duty steel bin beside an industrial furnace.

Alloy production residues

Skims, spills and furnace cleanouts

Industrial worker wearing protective equipment scraping dark metal-bearing residues from a large processing pipe into a collection container.

Equipment cleanouts

Residues from reactors, tanks and ducts

Old industrial drums, buckets and bulk bags containing assorted metal-bearing powders and residues stored in a dimly lit warehouse.

Legacy stockpiles

Old or unlabelled metal-bearing material

Mixed oxidized metal scrap, rust-colored oxide powders and irregular metal fragments collected in a large industrial recycling container.

Mixed oxides

Oxidised scrap and metal oxide blends

Small quantities of metal-bearing powders and industrial residues stored in sample jars, sealed bags and stainless steel trays at a pilot processing facility.

Lab and pilot plant waste

Small lots from R&D and pilot lines

HOW minor metals are PRICED

Oryx Metals makes scrap recycling easy and profitable

There's no single scrap price for minor metals. The same metal can come as clean solids or contaminated powder, and its value per kg can differ many times over. Every Oryx offer is based on your material's analysis, form and the market on the day.

How our pricing works
Highest value

Clean, high-purity solids

Uncontaminated pieces, offcuts, ingots and production rejects

Mid-Range

Coated or alloyed scrap

Coated parts, alloys, turnings and mixed solids

Priced on content

Powders, sludges & residues

Value depends on metal %, contamination and moisture

FAQs

Metal residue: questions about selling mixed metal residues

What counts as a mixed metal residue?

Any material containing more than one valuable metal that does not fit a standard scrap grade: mixed powders, alloy production skims and spills, equipment cleanouts, oxidised blends, legacy stockpiles and lab or pilot plant waste.

Our residue has no analysis. Can you still look at it?

Yes. Send photos, the process it came from and a rough weight. We will tell you which analysis to run and what to look for, or help arrange sampling if needed.

How is a metal residue priced?

On the payable metals the refiner can recover, minus processing costs for the rest of the material and any hazardous components. A residue with one dominant valuable metal is easier to price than a very mixed one. Oryx makes each offer from the analysis.

What if the residue turns out not to be recyclable?

We tell you before anything ships. Some residues have too little metal or too many problem elements. In that case we explain why, so you can plan disposal without paying for transport first.

Can you clear an old stockpile at a plant closure?

Yes. Plant closures and site cleanups often uncover mixed residues. We can sample, categorise and make offers for several streams at once, and coordinate collection with your decommissioning schedule.

Why bring difficult residues to Oryx Metals?

Oryx Metals works with a wide network of refiners for minor, precious and base metals, so we can often find a home for metal residue that a single-metal buyer cannot use. We assess each stream honestly and pay for the metals that can be recovered.
